Croatian company Farmas has taken over Serbian pharmaceutical company Ni Medic, within investment in Serbia of EUR 11 million. President of the administration of Farmas, Zdravka Knezevic , says that investment includes takeover of connected company for distribution of medicines, In Med, and investments in development of business, including the completion of building of factory of generic medicines in Zrenjanin. As she emphasized, the plan is that Farmas is developed into a regional company. Knezevic cited that the priority in the region for pharmaceutical company for production of generic medicines was arrival on Serbian market, where new therapies appear with 3-4 years lateness after Croatia. The director of In Medica, Radivoj Topalov, says that 9 medicines are produced in the facility in Belgrade, and that annual value of production is around EUR 2 million. The new factory in Zrenjanin, which should start production at the half of 2012, will enable broadening of product range and increase of capacities by around 10 million packs of medicines a year. " he said.
