APATIN BREWERY

Apatin brewery is one of the oldest beer factories in Europe. It was founded in 1756 and owned by the Viennese Imperial Chamber during the rule of the powerful Austria-Hungary. During the 19^th century it used to be in the possession of many owners of large estate. Late in the past century (1879) it was conveyed upon stockholders.

In the 18^th century the brewery used to generate 12.000 hl of beer yearly. In the 90is of the century, Apatin brewery yielded 1.500.000 hl of beer per year and took the second place in Yugoslavia.

Apatin brewery – a stock company in joint possession – was transformed early in the year of 1992. It was the first transformation that took place in Yugoslavia.

Did you know?

Knowledge of the beer dates back in the prehistoric times when the Celts, the Slovenes, the Germans, the Scythians…. produced it. They used barley, wheat, oats and buckwheat to make beer adding various spices and honey.

Under the Hamburaby law (law codex of the czar Hamburaby kept in the Louvre, this Babylonian king who lived from 2123-2081 B.C.), article 108, the following is stated:

“If in return for the beer, a female innkeeper refuses to take barley asking for a large quantity of silver, or should she serves less beer than obliged to give for the barley granted, she will be proven wrong and thrown in water.”

Consumers are mostly familiar with the Apatin beer:

“Jelen” beer was awarded 11 gold medals owing to its quality plus three more statutes of the Belgrade Gold Winner (gained on the basis of three gold medals in turn).

PILS LIGHT BEER is the latest and one of the most attractive products of Apatin brewery. It is the result of a modern technology, tradition lasting for ages and a new-fashioned design. PILS LIGHT belongs to the beer naturally boiled over with characteristics adjusted in a concordant fashion. Its light yellow color, bitterness emphasized a bit, noble flavor and firm-fixed and profuse foam make it more than drinkable.

Ever since 1969 DD Apatin brewery have been producing refreshing soft drinks - 12.000 bottles of 0.2 l per hour.

Today, 10.000 bottles of 1 l are generated on one production line per hour and 20.000 bottles of 0.25 l per hour. The most modern production line produces 20.000 cans of 0.5 l per hour, i.e. 26.000 cans of 0.33 l per hour.

Special attention is paid to the selection of raw materials for the production of soft drinks.

The most important thing is that all raw materials are purely natural!
